Who is Wendy Schofer, MD?
While I'm a pediatrician and lifestyle physician with over 20 years of practice, I prefer to be called Wendy. I'm a simple woman who loves coffee, improv comedy and long dog walks.
A few years ago, I was stressed, thinking that no matter how hard I worked, I wasn't good enough as a physician, mom or wife. It was all falling apart and I thought I was the problem. Later, through yet another humorous story (I'm full of them!), I realized it was burnout.
As parents, as physicians, as humans, we are experiencing burnout across the board. We are not the problem. Let's call it what it is: normal people being placed under unrelenting stress. Stress is the problem.
I now work with parents to address the stress of raising a healthy, whole family, as well as to create the fulfillment in their personal and professional careers. It's all related and the beautiful tools that I have learned and practice - the ones that have made me attuned to when the stress is building up and how I can offer myself self-correction - are the same tools that work at work, in the home and with family members of all ages.
Certified as a trauma-informed, feminist life and health coach, I have a bunch of stress-relieving tools to borrow from a ton of modalities. Let's find what works for you.
